You have decided to breastfeed, but sometimes challenges arise and help is needed.  As a breastfeeding mother myself, I have personal experiences in addition to professional training to help you reach your breastfeeding goals.  I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the gold standard for clinical lactation care.  I am in private practice - meaning, no other organization has influence on my training I receive or care plans I provide.   I am dedicated to providing a unbiased comprehensive lactation assessment for you and your child.

What is an IBCLC?
  • An IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
  • "[IBCLCs] function and contribute as members of the maternal-child health team. They provide care in a variety of settings, while making appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community support resources. Working together with mothers, families, policymakers and society, IBCLCs provide expert breastfeeding and lactation care, promote changes that support breastfeeding and help reduce the risks of not breastfeeding." International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners

When should I reach out?
  • As soon as you want to! I offer prenatal breastfeeding classes, childbirth education classes, newborn lactation visits within your own home, or office visits at any point in your breastfeeding journey.

How can you help me?
Some areas I can help are:
  • Breast & nipple pain
  • Concerns about milk supply
  •  Baby with special circumstances (preemie, low birth weight, other health issues that impact feeding)
  • Concerns about baby's growth
  • Pregnant and planning for breastfeeding
  • Concerns about your breastfed baby's fussiness or behavior
  • Concerns about tongue or lip tie
  • You aren't sure what the concern is, but you just want to talk over everything and make sure you are on the right track.

Does my insurance cover it?
  • Possibly! If you want to check if your insurance covers lactations consultation services, my best recommendation is to check eligibility through The Lactation Network. If covered, I will bill your insurance directly through them. You can find the link to verify below. I am also a TRICARE covered consultant. I always offer private pay option & a discounted rate for those with medicaid (as sole insurance only).
