Childbirth Class Details

You can do this!  You are going to give birth to a beautiful baby and become a mother (perhaps for second or third time).  I am here to tell you that it is possible to be prepared, confident, and eager for the big day. You are a "super mom" and you will do great.  By taking the Better Beginnings childbirth course, you will have the knowledge and tools to not only cope beautifully with labor, but make great decisions along the way. Your partner will understand your goals and know how to support you as you do the work of labor.

What's the course like?
This course is designed for you - whether this is your first baby, your fifth baby, your second hospital birth, or your first home birth. We make the most of your valuable time with engaging and up to date material to be sure you are best prepared.

The real difference between this course and any other way to prepare for birth is the value placed on RELATIONSHIPS -  your relationship with me, with other families, and with your partner.
In class you get to know me and I will be part of your birth and parenting team - here for any questions or challenges that come up along the way.  Throughout class, you will get to know the other couples.  You will learn from them and quite possibly find a life long friend. By making the time for a "date night" childbirth class, you are your partner make time to learn together and focus on the exciting adventure ahead.

Who teaches the course?
The course is taught by Katie Crozat. Current resident of Ocean Springs, mother of two with a passion for inspiring you with evidenced based information so that you can make informed decisions that feel right to you and your family.

Here is how it will go:

Prep-work:  Before our first class, you will receive the book that accompanies the class ("Giving Birth With Confidence) to read (as much as you can before class starts).  Also, you will be sent some videos and assignments to complete before our first in person class.
Class Details: We will meet in person for 6 classes in Ocean Springs in my (Katie's) home.  Each class will have discussion,    Q & A and a practice relaxation technique.

Who should take the course?
The Better Beginnings childbirth course is for anyone that wants to be confident and prepared for labor and birth.  Maybe you are already passionate about having a natural birth, we will give you the tools to implement that plan.  Maybe you are scared of the pain and all the unknowns; through education, those fears will be long gone.  All kinds of people have taken this class and LOVED it:  first time couples, families adding their 4th child, single parents, military families, students, professionals, those planning a hospital birth and those planning a home birth, those who have had miscarriages and those with health complications, high risk and low risk pregnancies.  Every class is adapted specifically to you.
